# Deposit

## Prerequisites

Before depositing into a Gremlix vault, you need:

1. **A Web3 wallet** — MetaMask or any injected browser wallet
2. **Arbitrum One network** — configured in your wallet
3. **Assets to deposit:**
   * USDC for the USDC Dual Grid Vault
   * WBTC (or equivalent BTC token) for the BTC Growth Capital Vault
4. **ETH on Arbitrum** — a small amount for transaction gas fees

## Step-by-Step

### 1. Connect Your Wallet

1. Open the Gremlix app
2. Click **"Connect Wallet"** in the top-right corner
3. Select your wallet provider (MetaMask, etc.)
4. Approve the connection request in your wallet

### 2. Select the Correct Network

Make sure you are on **Arbitrum One** (Chain ID: 42161). If you are on a different network, the app will prompt you to switch.

### 3. Choose a Vault

On the main page, you will see available vaults:

| ------------------------ | ----- | ------ | ---------- |
| USDC Dual Grid Vault     | USDC  | High   | \~80%      |
| BTC Growth Capital Vault | WBTC  | Medium | \~15–25%   |

Click on a vault to view its details page.

### 4. Enter Deposit Amount

On the vault details page:

1. Find the **Deposit** section
2. Enter the amount of USDC/BTC you want to deposit
3. You can use the **Max** button to deposit your full balance
4. Review the estimated shares you will receive

### 5. Approve Token Spending (First Time)

If this is your first deposit:

1. You will first need to **Approve** the vault to spend your tokens
2. Click **Approve** and confirm the transaction in your wallet
3. Wait for the approval transaction to confirm on-chain

### 6. Confirm Deposit

1. Click **Deposit**
2. Review the transaction details in your wallet popup
3. Confirm the transaction
4. Wait for on-chain confirmation (\~1–3 seconds on Arbitrum)

### 7. Verify Your Position

After deposit:

* Your wallet will show the vault's **ERC20 share tokens** (e.g., gUSDC, gBTC)
* The vault details page will show your current position value
* Your position value will increase as yield is harvested

## What You Receive

| What          | Description                                         |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| Vault shares  | ERC20 tokens representing your vault position       |
| Yield accrual | Share price increases as strategy earns profit      |
| DEX points    | Accumulated proportional to your share of the vault |

## Minimum Deposit

Each vault may have a minimum deposit amount configured by the operator. The UI will display this if your entered amount is too small.

## After Depositing

Your capital is automatically put to work:

* The Keeper allocates deposited capital to the grid trading strategy
* Grid orders begin executing on the Perpetual DEX
* DEX points start accumulating
* Your share value increases with each harvest event

No further action is required — the protocol manages everything automatically.

## Notes

* There can be lock-up period — check Vault details page.
* A small withdrawal fee may apply (see [Fee Structure](/docs/protocol/fees.md))
* Gas fees on Arbitrum are very low (typically < $0.01 per transaction)
